Life Group Questions – December 8th
“God is for us”
Luke 2:1-5, Romans 8:31-39
1. What is something that has been hyped up recently that didn’t or did meet your expectations? (A new movie, a restaurant someone told you about, a book recommended to you). In what ways can the Christmas season not live up to the expectations we have for it?
2. In what ways can it feel like “the universe” is out to get you in life? (team destined to lose, always in the longest line, always expect bad news).
3. Do you believe that God is for you? Why is that hard to believe sometimes? How can we make sure we know this even when things aren’t going well in life?
4. Read Romans 8:31-39. What does this passage tell us about God and His rule?
What do we learn about our reality with a God who is for us? What “created things” have you seen people look to for security?
5. The story of the birth of Jesus reminds us that God is for us, not against us. God the Father gave up God the Son to ensure He would never have to give us up. Because of this, we will never be separated from His love. In what circumstances in your own life do you need to be reminded of the truth that God is for you?
Reminders:
SATURDAY, DEC 14 | Ladies Ornament Exchange: The ladies are invited to an ornament exchange at 9:00am at Regency. Bring a breakfast food to share.
SUNDAY, DEC 15 | Regency Family Holiday Potluck Meal: We will have our church Christmas lunch in the gym following the morning worship gathering. Please bring a dish, side, or dessert to share. Stockings will be hung for the staff.
